The length of the corridor is 8.25 miles with sections at various levels of development. Colorado Boulevard from 88th Avenue to 136th Avenue is a 5-lane arterial with dedicated turn lanes; Colorado Boulevard from 136th Avenue to 140th Avenue is a 4-lane arterial with a raised median; Colorado Boulevard from 140th Avenue to 500-ft north of 141st Avenue has 2-lanes southbound and 1-lane northbound; Colorado Boulevard from 500-ft north of 141st Avenue to E-470 is a 2-lane arterial. During the preliminary design, the Project may consider different types of separated bike facilities such as multiuse side paths, cycle tracks, or protected bike lanes for different sections of the corridor depending on feasibility, cross section, right-of-way, and other possible limitations. The design will include a phasing plan for development and implementation. Project is federally funded, plans and specifications will need to conform to Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) standards and format. Every federally funded contract requires a DBE Goal.
