Reference Number 0000396392 The Mohawk River Pedestrian Bridge Rehab project is intended to remove and replace approximately two thousand six hundred and eighty-eight square feet of southern yellow pine deck boarding. This Project site is a highly pedestrian-traveled foot bridge that spans the Mohawk River where it meets the Erie Canal at the end of Harborway on the east side of Rome. The structure was erected in 2000. All replacement boards must but 12" wide with no gaps. Washington Street Rome, New York 13440 315-339-7627 Jguiliano@RomeCityGov.com Bonding Requirements - Bid Bond 5 % Bids shall be accompanied by money order, certified check, or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price, payable to the City Treasurer, City of Rome, NY. The Mohawk River Pedestrian Bridge Rehabilitation Project is intended to remove and replace approximately two thousand- Six hundred and eighty-eight square feet of southern yellow pine deck boarding The project site is a highly pedestrian traveled foot bridge that spans the Mohawk River where it meets the Erie Canal at the end of Harborway in the east side of Rome. The structure was erected in 2000 and the City of Rome has performed many small maintenance projects on the bridge but the wearing surface of the wood decking boards have become unrepairable. This project will remove and replace the approx 2688 square foot deck with new Southern Yellow Pine boards The subsurface has been visually inspected and is acceptable to work from. All boards must be 12 ' wide with no gaps. The existing fastening pattern is to be replicated on reinstall of the deck boards. The board should be continuous across the span No partial boards will be accepted laterally The Southern Yellow Pine boards should be graded No. 1 Dense Pressure Treated. Noncorrosive fasteners must be employed and included in the lump sum pricing. End cut treatment must be specified for all cut pieces and approved by the Engineer in charge of the project prior to application This treatment Must be a waterborne application. ' Submittals to be approved prior to installation include fasteners, all wood products, waterborne treatment applications and method of installation. The bridge can be closed for pedestrian use on a daily basis but should remain accessible by end of business each work day. No closures over the weekend or holidays will be permitted. Contractor must provide its own power for the site. There is no public power available. All proper safety protocols for working on an open span will be monitored. OSHA and NYSDOL rules and regulations apply to this project A work trailer is not required for this project but a daily Superintendent is required to be onsite each working day No bidder may withdraw their bid within forty-five (45) calendar days after the actual date of the opening thereof. The City of Rome also reserves the Right to Accept any bid proposal deemed to be in the best interest of the City,
