Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) is requesting proposals for the utility locating services of our Electric, Water, Fiber Optic, and Traffic Intersection Facilities. This includes OMU owned primary and secondary lines running from transformers to the pedestals and streetlight feeders. Customer owned services are not included except for one neighbourhood. It also includes OMU public and raw water mains as well as service lines from the meter to main, fiber optic cables in and out of fiber nodes, transmission fiber, and distribution fiber. Following award and before commencement of work, a formal agreement shall be executed by OMU and the Contractor whose proposal is selected for award, with terms and conditions agreeable to OMU (the "Contract" or "resulting Contract"). The term of the Agreement shall commence on November 28, 2025, and shall continue for an initial period of three (3) years until November 27, 2028 ("Initial Term"), and with OMU reserving the right to extend for two (2) successive one-year terms ("Renewal Terms") with OMU giving a ninety (90) days notice of its intent to exercise each of the one (1) year renewal terms. Awarded contractor shall be ready to start work on November 28, 2025. A mandatory safety orientation provided by OMU needs to be completed prior to commencement of work. OMU reserves the right to terminate the Agreement by providing the vendor with at least ninety (90) days written notice indicating OMU's election to terminate the Agreement without incurring any termination fees. OMU further reserves the right to award this Agreement solely for an initial period of three (3) years without the option to extend for two (2) successive one (1) year renewal terms based on what is most advantageous for OMU following evaluation of proposals. OMU reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities.
