Renovation of a mixed-use development in Memphis, Tennessee. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a 12,100-square-foot medical facility.
Architect/Engineering (A/E) design services are required to correct architectural deficiencies within the Sterile Processing Service (SPS) areas at the Memphis VA Medical Center. The project involves renovating approximately 12,100 square feet, including replacing acoustic tile ceilings with solid seamless ceilings, replacing quarry tile flooring with seamless flooring, and repairing damaged walls and other features to meet sterile area standards. The A/E firm will conduct an in-depth investigation of existing space and utility systems, verify existing conditions, and develop plans and system schematics based on field verification and VA-provided drawings. Design services will include schematic design, design development, construction documents, and bid documents, with all submissions conforming to VA standards. The design must accommodate a 24/7 medical environment, considering infection control, demolition, and phasing requirements. The A/E firm will also provide design period services, attend project meetings, and prepare detailed documentation to support construction activities.
