Municipal Operation Center Fuel Secondary Containment Resurfacing Question Deadline 09/08/2025 at 2:00 PM MT Questions and/or clarifications concerning this solicitation must be entered into the Questions tab in the online . Responses to questions will be released for all Bidders/Offerors to view in the online . Scope of Work 1. The specified work shall be completed at the location below. a. City of Farmington Municipal Operations Center (MOC) Bulk Fuel Site 101 North Browning Parkway, Farmington, NM 87401 2. Each of the three secondary containments measures approximately 4000 cubic feet in area consisting of a 465" x 177" floor and four walls measuring 72" - 86" high. An appropriate amount of Xypex concentrate or other approved material will need to be ordered to coat all the floors and sides of three secondary containments to a height sufficient to contain material from a ruptured tank. a. Calculated height of 3' 2" is sufficient for Xypex Concentrate coating. This equates to approximately 910 sq feet of coating required for each of the three tanks. b. Remaining height of containment as well outside half-walls to be painted with appropriate outdoor paint. 3. Existing coating will need to be removed from concrete and surface prepped prior to application of new material. a. Secondary containments are accessed from a fixed ladder. b. Secondary containments do not have drains or other means of removing material or water during the work process. Material and water in the containment will have to be manually or mechanically removed prior to the end of each day's work. 4. Additional installation details from Xypex concentrate that will need to be reviewed and followed for proper installation: a. "Concrete surfaces to be treated must be clean and free of laitance, dirt, film, paint, coating or other foreign matter." b. "Xypex Concentrate requires a saturated surface dry (SSD condition)." c. "The coating must be uniformly applied and should be just under 1/16 in." d. "The Xypex Concentrate treatment must not be applied under rainy conditions or when ambient temperature is below 40 F. Avoid application of the Xypex Concentrate coating in hot and windy conditions as the coating may dry out prematurely." e. "Curing should begin as soon as the Xypex Concentrate has set to the point where it will not be damaged by a fine spray of water." 5. The secondary containments are considered to be confined space by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). All regulations for confined space entry will be required to be adhered to. 6. Awarded vendor is required to supply all labor, materials, and equipment to complete the scope of work, including the Xypex Concentrate coating or an approved substitute. Substitution must be approved in writing prior to the close of this bid.
