Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable form of bid guarantee (a certified check of the bidder drawn payable to the town of poughkeepsie or a bid bond in favor of the town of poughkeepsie from a recognized insurance carrier) in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount bid as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract with the town of poughkeepsie under the terms of the bid documents. A bidder's qualification statement is included with the bidding documents. Failure to submit a completed bidder's qualification statement with the bid is basis for the bid being determined as non-responsive. Contractor shall also be required to comply with federal "American iron and steel" requirements for the use of products made primarily of iron and steel, as required by the state revolving loan fund.
