Demolition, site work, renovation and addition to an educational facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the addition of a 30,410-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility; for the renovation of a 49,474-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.
As of February 4th, 2026, an awarded contractor has been identified. Construction is expected to begin this spring. Work includes the creation of an interdisciplinary academic and research facility at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The modernization and expansion will include active learning classrooms, computational labs, tutoring and advising spaces, offices, student collaboration spaces and fabrication labs. The project will also upgrade mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and the installation of a new fire protection system Honeywell Innovation Hub / UNC Charlotte All bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and plainly labeled on the outermost package 22-24380-02A UNCC Burson Bldg Renovation and Expansion. Bids being submitted before 1:00 PM on January 15, 2026, shall be delivered to Facilities Management - Address 9151 Cameron Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28223 and shall be placed in the brown bid/proposal dropbox located in the 1st Floor Lobby of the building. Bidders are responsible for ensuring their Bid is received before the deadline indicated.
