The project generally consists of the construction of an approximate 70-footlong retaining wall at MP 2.12 and an approximate 120-foot-long retaining wall at MP 2.19 on Fairfax Bolinas Road in unincorporated Fairfax. Construction will generally include the following work activities: soldier pile retaining wall with concrete lagging, tiebacks, minor concrete, shoring, temporary structures, earthwork, pier drilling, erosion and sediment control, roadway paving, striping, minor drainage improvements, traffic control, guardrail installation, and rock slope protection. A Bid Bond, cash, certified check, or cashier's check, in the amount of 10% of the total bid amount payable to the County of Marin shall accompany the Proposal. The Board of Supervisors of the County of Marin reserves the right to reject any or all bids and the right to waive any irregularities. This project is to be advertised pursuant to Public Contract Code 22037. Bidders are advised that, as required by Federal law, the State has established a statewide overall DBE goal. This County Federal-aid contract is considered to be part of the statewide overall DBE goal. The County is required to report to Caltrans on DBE participation for all Federal-aid contracts each year so that attainment efforts may be evaluated.
