Based on information provided by Mr. Zwingman, it is our understanding this project will consist of reconstructing North 6th Street in Newman Grove, Nebraska. The existing roadway is approximately 350-feet long and consists of asphalt pavement. The existing asphalt is significantly worn and cracked. The reconstructed roadway will consist of new concrete pavements to be approximately 6-inches thick. Based on the street location and surrounding neighborhoods, it is assumed the proposed new paved street will have typical residential traffic consisting mostly oflight cars and trucks. The proposed project is described. as follows: For furnishing all labor, equipment, materials, and incidental items for construction of concrete paving on 6th Street from Burrows Avenue to Pike Avenue. Work includes removal of existing surfac ing, earthwork, subgrade prepara tion, concrete paving, storm sewer, backfill and fine grading, seeding. and other incidental items of work. as specified herein and shown on the plans. Alternate bid will be taken for construction of concrete curb and gutter with 6" asphaltic concrete surfacing to be placed in lieu of con- crete paving. The Owner intends to award one contract for all work to be performed. The bidder shall not qualify bids in any manner. Bids submitted to the owner shall remain current for a period of 35 days. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 7 days without written consent from the Owner. Contract Documents Shall be kept on file by the Owner and shall be made available to the public.
