The County of Marin, Department of Public Works (DPW) seeks responses to a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) from Contractors interested in pre-qualifying to bid on the upcoming contract for the Marin County Jail Furniture Upgrades & Related Work Project located in San Rafael, California. DPW seeks Contractors with sufficient experience in the Detention Industry with significant experience in coordination and execution of projects that are substantial in size, involve challenging logistical conditions, and have aggressive schedules. The scope of work will include but may not be limited to: demolition and installation of detention furniture and equipment, installation of specialty detention doors, interior painting, and application of epoxy flooring. Contractors must demonstrate that they, or their subcontractor, are a factory-trained Detention Equipment Contractor (DEC) with experience installing detention furniture products manufactured by Cortech USA. Contractors who are evaluated and deemed pre-qualified to perform work will be eligible to submit a bid. Contractors who do not submit the pre-qualification information will be disqualified from the bidding process. Contractors shall submit and will be evaluated on information with respect to their experience on projects of similar size, scope and complexity. The information shall include general and specific experience, claim and surety history, ability to meet schedule and budget requirements and skills in general management. Resumes of key personnel who will manage and supervise the construction shall be provided in the RFQ response. Contractors must hold a valid General "A" or "B" contractor's license and must provide ability to obtain corporate surety (payment & performance) bonds and insurance in order to be eligible for the pre-qualification (RFQ) evaluation.
