“The owner has determined a prequalified list of contractor. A Request for Proposals has not yet been established.” The City of Myrtle Beach is requesting proposals in a Construction Manager-at-Risk (CMAR) project to provide preconstruction and construction services for a Vietnam Veterans memorial. Included in the scope of services is collaboration with the design architect during the design phase, provide constructability and value engineering guidance, development of a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) proposal, and entering into a construction agreement for the construction of the project. The City intends to hire a qualified Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) to assist in the design process and to serve as the General Contractor (GC) for the construction phase of the project. It is anticipated that preconstruction services will be required of the CMAR Contractor beginning immediately upon contract execution. On-site construction activities are anticipated to begin in the winter of 2025 and be completed within 6 months.
