A timeline for the award has not yet been established.** Wayne Mason Raw Water Intake Improvements NOTE THAT THE PURCHASING DIVISION HAS TEMPORARILY RELOCATED. ALL BIDS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT THIS LOCATION. The bid envelope must be marked on the outside with Bid Number, name of Bidder, date and time of opening. Contractors providing the utility work must have a current valid Utility Contractors License. The project involves the removal of the existing intake pipes, check valves, and butterfly valves at the Wayne Mason Raw Water Intake site. New Check valves, butterfly valves and a freight lift with enclosure will be installed. The contractor will install two new intake pipes with tee screens at elevations of 1,025 and 1,042.5 ft in the lake. A concrete meter vault will be installed at the site, and a new flow meter will be provided by the Owner for installation on the 78-inch raw water transmission line. The project also involves the coring of a new wet well penetration for the pipe at elevation of 1,042.5 ft. Site modifications will improve access, mobility, security, and stormwater management. All Bidders are required to submit a Bid Bond or a certified check made payable to the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. The Bid Bond or certified check must be enclosed in the envelope with the sealed bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a contract Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the sum of 100% of the total amount bid and provide insurance coverage as required by the contract documents. Bonding Company should be licensed to do business in Georgia, licensed to do business by the Georgia Secretary of State, authorized to do business in Georgia by the Georgia Insurance Department, listed in the Department of the Treasury's Publication of Companies Holding Certificates of Authority as Acceptable Surety on Federal Bonds and as Acceptable Reinsuring Companies and must have an A.M. Best rating of A-10 or higher. No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Bidder agrees to complete the Contract awarded within the "allowable calendar days for completion" from the date of the "Notice to Proceed" and he further agrees that the Owner may retain from the monies which may become due the amount of $2,500.00 (Substantial) / $700.00 (Final) for each and every day that the completion of the work may be delayed.
