The City of Markham is requesting Bids from qualified contractors to undertake the clean-out of ten (10) Oil-Grit Separator (OGS) chambers throughout the City. Bidders shall refer to the contract drawings for the locations found in Attachment 'A' (Oil Grit Separators Technical Details). The Contractor is required to clean all OGS structures at the locations described in Attachment 'A' (Oil Grit Separators Technical Details), and haul all collected material to a Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) approved waste processing plant to process and dispose of material. Disposal at the receiving waste processing plant shall be arranged by the Contractor, and the vacuum type cleaners shall discharge all material at the receiving plant. The further processing and disposal of all material shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to be completed at the receiving plant in an environmentally responsible and approved manner in accordance with applicable laws. The Contractor shall use hydrovac truck equipment for continuous work on this contract. The\ hydrovac truck shall have power washing capabilities of ~3,000 psi, and a storage capacity of 10,000 - 12,000 L as a minimum. The truck shall be equipped with a minimum hose intake size of 200 mm and shall be capable of reaching sumps up to 8.5 meters in depth. The Contractor shall follow traffic control measures as specified in the Ontario Traffic Manual, Book 7 while on site at all times. The Contractor is required to remove and dispose of all material cleaned from the OGS units as per the details in this contract. All equipment to be used in this Work shall be subject to inspection by the City, prior to award of the Contract, to ensure compliance with the Specifications. The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, not to award the Contract to any Bidder whose equipment does not meet the requirements of the Specifications and/or does not conform to all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) requirements for operation upon a highway Question Deadline 09/05/2025 at 4:00 PM ET Bid questions and submissions are to be submitted Online.
