New Braunfels Utilities ("NBU") invites the submittal of responses to this Request for Proposals ("RFP") from qualified firms interested in providing construction services in connection with the construction of NBU Fiber Build (the "Project"). The Project has been designed by Cobb, Fendley & Associates, Inc. The Project is anticipated to include some or all of the following items within its scope: (i) construction of approximately 112,632 linear feet ("LF") of 48 count ("CT") fiber optic cable ("FOC") by aerial installation; (ii) construction of approximately 79,892 LF of 48-CT FOC by overlashing to existing New Braunfels Utilities ("NBU") strand and fiber; (iii) construction of approximately 32,129 LF of 48-CT FOC by placement of new strand and lashing FOC; (iv) construction of approximately 110 - 150' aerial slack loops to be placed in snow shoes; (v) construction of approximately 16 down-guys and anchors; (v) construction of approximately 10 risers; (vi) construction of approximately 1,218 linear of 3" High Density Polyethylene ("HDPE") Standard Dimensional Ration ("SDR") 11 by horizontal directional bore and open trench; (vii) construction of approximately 73 linear feet of 6" casing under TxDOT right of way; (viii) placement of approximately 1,518 linear feet of fiber in 3" HDPE SDR 11; (ix) placement of approximately 9,546 linear feet of tracer wire into existing 3" HDPE SDR 11 conduit; (x) placement of approximately two 24"X36"X18" handholes; (xi) placement of approximately two fiber scalability center ("FSC") pole mounted cabinets; (xii) replacement of one 288 cabinet with a 432 cabinet.; and (xiii) all other appurtenances necessary to complete the Project.
