The City of Fort Bragg is seeking proposals from qualified and experienced janitorial service providers to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to maintain cleanliness and sanitation at various City facilities and parks throughout the City of Fort Bragg. These areas include Bainbridge & Wiggly Giggly Park, Town Hall, four (4) restrooms along the Coastal Trail (starting North at Glass Beach and ending South at Pomo Headlands), and Pomo Bluffs restroom. The selected contractor will be responsible for maintaining all designated outdoor restroom areas to ensure a clean, healthy, safe, and visually appealing environment. The City of Fort Bragg is a general law City, with a five-member City Council, and operates under the Council-Manager form of government. The Council appoints the City Manager, who appoints other City Officials and is charged with overseeing the City's daily operations. The City provides a wide range of services to its residents, including public protection through the Police Department, the construction and maintenance of streets and infrastructure, water service, community development, parks and recreation services, financial management, and administrative services. Special Districts and Joint Powers Authorities (JPAs) under the jurisdiction of the City provide emergency services, fire protection, wastewater treatment, and redevelopment services throughout the City. The City of Fort Bragg is located approximately 165 miles north of San Francisco and 188 miles west of Sacramento. The city occupies 2.7 square miles, 1/3 is zoned industrial. Fort Bragg is the largest city on the scenic Mendocino coast. The mild climate and picturesque coastline make the City a popular tourist and recreational area. The City employs approximately 128 employees, consisting of 46 part-time and 82 regular full-time employees. During the busy tourist season, the City traditionally hires temporary/seasonal employees for parking enforcement, lifeguarding, and help to maintain city streets and parks. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, supervision, equipment, and cleaning supplies necessary to perform the following tasks: o Daily Cleaning Tasks: o Empty and sanitize trash and recycling receptacles inside restrooms o Empty garbage can receptacles located outside of restrooms and along the Coastal Trail o Sweep and mop all floors o Clean and disinfect restrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors, and floors o Refill restroom supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.) o Wipe down and disinfect high-touch surfaces (e.g., door handles, light switches, counters) o Remove litter and debris from restroom entrances and surrounding areas o Periodic Tasks as Needed: o Dust and clean horizontal surfaces, vents, and baseboards o Knock down and remove spiderwebs o Clean interior glass and windows o Removal of graffiti if possible (if not possible, please inform City, so that the issue can be addressed). The City of Fort Bragg reserves the right to negotiate with any qualified respondents or to cancel, in part or in its entirety, this Request for Proposals, if it is in the best interest of the City to do so. The City may require the selected consultant to participate in negotiations and submit such price, technical or other revisions of the proposal that may result from negotiations.
