The University of Utah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality or technicality in any bid in the interest of the University. The scope of work will involve the removal of existing units and installation of new, equivalent-capacity boilers, including all necessary connections, start-up, and commissioning. Boilers and all other necessary equipment need to be readily available to meet the installation and finish dates. The selected contractor will be responsible for: 1. Project Schedule Requirements o Installation must be substantially complete, with the new boiler systems fully operational, no later than October 17, 2025. 2. Removal of Existing Boilers o Direct coordination with facility for training and site access and attend weekly meetings to provide project status. o Disconnect and remove three existing boilers, including associated piping, venting, and controls as needed. o Proper disposal of all removed equipment in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. o All rigging and crane work if required for equipment removal or installation. 3. Approved Manufactures o RayPak o Lochinvar o CleaverBrooks o Approval from University of Utah Health is required, for manufactures not listed above. 4. Installation of New Boilers o Supply and install three direct replacement boilers matching the capacity, configuration, and performance of the existing units. o Supply and install new circulator pumps sized and matched for the new boiler systems. o Verify water make-up is operational and provides any necessary repairs o Provide and install all condensate piping and neutralizer kits o Verify existing gas regulators match the new boiler requirements and replace if necessary o Reconnect all piping, high and low voltage electrical connections, controls, and venting. o Ensure compliance with all applicable building, mechanical, and safety codes. o Contract Atkinson controls for all control connections and lead lag operations. If a lead lag controller is needed the contractor will be responsible for providing everything necessary. 5. System Water Verification o Contract directly with West Chemical to verify proper chemical treatment for the new boiler system o Provide documentation and verification 6. Commissioning and Testing o Perform start-up and operational testing. o Provide manufacturer documentation, warranties, and training for facility staff. 7. Documentation o Submit all warranty information, operation manuals, and maintenance requirements. o Provide all equipment submittals prior to ordering for approval
