The ITS Projects and Traffic Flow Improvements Project within affected SR-710 Corridors includes the design and implementation of ITS assets along the selected signalized intersections and integration of these assets into the DOT multi-modal transportation network. Integration will feature point to point connectivity through fiber optics for communications at some locations. The installation of hardware consists of, but not limited to, upgrading 18 type 337 cabinets to type 332 cabinets, traffic controllers, audible pedestrian push buttons, vehicle detection equipment technology, conduits, conductors, pull boxes, and miscellaneous appurtenant work for up to 28 signalized intersections along Orange Grove Boulevard, Colorado Boulevard, Green Street, and Holly Street. Background The proposed ITS project will provide signal equipment upgrades to up to 28 signalized intersections within the City of Pasadena. These signals are centrally located near the central business district. The signals along Orange Grove Boulevard, Colorado Boulevard, Green Street, and Holly Street are east-west corridors south of the I-210 Freeway which serves as connectors to the major north-south corridors of Orange Grove Boulevard and Fair Oaks Avenue and the I-210 on-and-off ramps at Lake Avenue, Hill Avenue, Allen Avenue, and Sierra Madre Boulevard.
