Popham, Procurement Director or Phone: (864) 638-4141 Fax: (864) 638-4142 Email: tpopham@oconeesc.com Oconee County is seeking sealed bids from licensed contractors for the construction of a 46-foot by 90-foot concrete pad at Chau Ram County Park, located at: 1220 Chau Ram Park Rd Westminster, SC 29693 Interested contractors must be properly licensed and experienced in concrete work. Detailed project specifications and requirements will be provided in the bid package. SCOPE OF WORK The concrete pad shall be constructed at the location previously graded and compacted by Oconee County Bridges, as indicated on the attached map. A general layout of the pad corners will be painted on the ground for bidder reference. It is the responsibility of the awarded contractor to verify that the layout and corners are square and accurate per the provided plans. The area shall be properly prepared, and formed to receive a new concrete pad. The pad will measure 46-feet by 90-feet, with a uniform thickness of 6 inches. Building pad will be 30'x 90' with an 8'x 90' over hang on the front. Concrete shall have a minimum compressive strength of 4,000 PSI and include fiber reinforcement consisting of polypropylene or co-polymer fibers, added at a rate of 3.0 pounds per cubic yard. The slab shall be reinforced with #5 rebar, installed in accordance with Item #3 below. The concrete surface shall have a smooth finish, and control joints shall be installed to prevent cracking. The concrete pad will serve as the foundation for a 30' x 90' metal building to be installed by the others following pad completion. SPECIFICATIONS 1. Site Preparation The building pad area has been graded and compacted. Compaction shall be verified jointly by Oconee County and the awarded contractor prior to concrete placement. The County will coordinate with the awarded contractor to determine if compaction testing is necessary. If required, the County will hire a testing firm to perform the compaction testing. The contractor will be responsible for fine grading and completing the project. 2. Concrete Pad Dimensions Total area: Approx. 4,258 sq ft with footers under every future wall as shown on attached drawing. Thickness: 6 inches Concrete strength: 4000 psi minimum Additives: Fiberglass fibers must be included in the concrete mix. The finished pad shall not vary more than 1/8" from the testing edge of a 10-foot straight edge. 3. Reinforcement Requirements Rebar type: #5 Rebar Grid pattern: 16" x 16" on center Overlap: Minimum 25 inches at all splices Clear cover: Embedded: Minimum 2" Edge clearance: Minimum 3" from slab edges 4. Control Joints Minimum relief cuts every 12 feet Saw cut depth: 1/4 of slab thickness (1.5 inches) 5. Sloped Front Section The front 8 feet of the pad (as shown in plans) shall be sloped at 5% away from the main building pad to facilitate water runoff. 6. Pad Lip Detail The back, right, and left sides, up to the building pad's jut-out, shall include a lip as follows: Height: 1 1/2 inches below slab surface Width: 3 1/2 inches 7. Footer Details Location: Continuous under each future wall (see attached plan and footer detail) Dimensions: 18.5" wide x 12" deep 6.5 inches to remain above the exterior slab grade Reinforcement: Minimum 2 continuous #5 rebars Minimum 25-inch overlap at all splices 8. Finish Concrete shall have a smooth finish with control joints. 9. Verification and Inspection All layouts, dimensions, and reinforcements shall be verified by the contractor before concrete placement. Oconee County will conduct inspections of compacted fill and other critical elements in cooperation with the contractor. 10.
