Site work and new construction of a power facility in Montreal, Quebec. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a power facility; and for site work for a power facility.
Construction of a new electrical substation to respond to the growth in energy consumption in downtown Montreal. This fully indoor substation will replace the projects initially planned for the Berri and Dorchester substations. This strategic project will support the growth of major real estate developments such as the Quartier des Lumières, Îlot Voyageur, and Quartier Molson, while supporting efforts to decarbonize buildings and electrify transportation. It will also ensure reliable power supply to key institutions such as the STM, CHUM, and UQAM. In addition to reconfiguring the underground distribution network, the company is committed to preserving and enhancing part of the built heritage, while promoting the integration of community uses. The future building will be the subject of an architectural competition to ensure harmonious integration into the urban fabric and respect the site's heritage character. TIMELINE: The project is preliminary and has just been announced by the owner who has chosen to build the infrastructure on the site of the former Institut des Soeurs de la Miséricorde, located midway between the Berri and Dorchester substations. Scope of work and timelines of the project development are being finalized. Note. Value of the project is not released and is an estimate.
