The Contractor will perform: Water Line Replacement for Street Rehabilitation Phase VI (Odom Rd, Shamrock Ave, & Harriot St). Question Deadline 09/19/2025 at 2:00 PM CT All questions about the meaning or intent of the Contract Documents are to be directed to the Engineer. Attendance at the Pre-bid meeting is a prerequisite to bidding. Prior to the pre-bid conference, interest-ed bidders should obtain forms of proposal, contract, bond, and specifications. No one will be allowed to enter the pre-bid virtually or in-person if arrival is later than 5 minutes after the designated time. Calls for any technical difficulties must be made prior to the meeting. Provide a construction schedule to facilitate scheduling of work to be performed by the OWNER and others. The CONTRACTOR will be required to submit for the Engineer's approval a construction sequence of the phased installation for the proposed work. The OWNER shall reserve the right to adjust the construction sequence to limit the number of service interruptions. 2. Complete upgrades as noted in the drawings and specifications of this contract. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for: a. Remove landscapes, planters, abandoned pilings, asphalt overlay, concrete pavement and curb, flexible base, surfacing, driveways, and sidewalks as necessary for construction in accordance with the details shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer. b. Return all R.O.W. elevations behind curb in areas of disturbance to preconstruction grades or to elevations shown on plans. All areas of construction shall be restored to preconstruction conditions. c. Construct water utility improvements as shown in the plans and specifications. d. Provided temporary water service connections. 3. The project includes the installation of approximately 2,077 linear feet (L.F.) of 8" PVC water line, 1029 L.F. of 6" HDPE water line, and 538 L.F. of 2" HDPE water mains. All existing fire hydrants and water service connections are to be replaced with new fire hydrant assembly's on the new line prior to pressure test, disinfection, and bac-t tests are performed and passed. 4. All water lines to be bored shall be high density Polyethylene (HDPE) line, black with a blue stripe, SDR13.5 water main or approved as equal. All lines shall be installed with Tracer Wire (#8) Solid Coated Copper Wire. 5. Tie-ins to new water main to existing in-line gate valves or hot-taps. The Contractor will be responsible for final tie-ins to active city lines. City forces shall complete in place all hot taps on active city lines. All valve tie-ins to be replaced or installed shall be approved by the Water Utilities Engineer. 6. Abandon existing in-line valves located on all lines to be abandoned in place, by methods of removing the A-box and filling the riser with select fill to grade. 7. All abandoned lines are to be cut and capped. Abandoned water lines 6" or greater are to be filled with flowable fill. 8. Perform required testing of the new water main and appurtenances, as required. Deflection testing will not be required in all sections. However, the OWNER shall reserve the right to require deflection testing of any sections of line deemed necessary, at no additional cost to the OWNER. 10 9. Drainage - Maintaining drainage within the project area at least equal to existing conditions will be the contractor's responsibility. Restore the site to its pre-construction condition or better. The Engineer's estimate for this contract is estimated to be $617,000.00.
