Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Davenport, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The Scott County Conservation Board is requesting proposals for new playground equipment to replace aging equipment at the High Meadows Shelter at West Lake Park near Davenport, Iowa. Vendors are asked to submit no more than two design proposals for the playground. o All playground equipment and surfacing must meet ALL standard playground equipment specifications, including ASTM, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, and IPEMA Certified. o Design for maximum age group usage, primarily ages 5-12. o Proposals should include the cost of utilizing synthetic turf or poured-in-place rubber as the safety surface o The proposed playgrounds shall not exceed the existing playground area o High Meadows Playground with the current fall zone is approximately 55 feet by 55 feet o Vendors are encouraged to do a site visit to ensure proposals will work in the designated areas o Proposals with wooden construction will not be considered. o The equipment may be modular, free-standing, or a combination of both in design. All upright supports must be a minimum of 3.5 inches in diameter. o Colors should be unique and fun. o Prices shall include delivery and installation of the playground and safety surface. o SCCB will remove the existing playground and prepare the site for installation. o As a cost-saving measure, SCCB requests this to be a supervisory build, with staff providing labor, equipment, and concrete. The contractors shall provide at least one supervisor who will lead the layout of the equipment, supervise construction, and oversee other related tasks. Estimated concrete quantities should be included with the RFP. o All specifications and warranty literature must accompany the design drawings. o Proposals must include an estimated time frame for equipment delivery and installation. Selection Criteria: o Completeness of the proposal o The amount and diversity of play opportunities o The uniqueness of design o The compatibility of design and/or theme with the park setting o Quality, costs, and warranty.
