Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Marksville, Louisiana. Working plans call for site work for a municipal facility; for the construction of a municipal facility; and water / sewer project.
As of November 19, 2025, project will be rebid. No definite date for the rebid. New Segregation Block - Segregation Complex.- Segregation construction shall run concurrent with the Kitchen/Laundry and Nurse/Court buildings and completed within the time frame stipulated in the Contract Documents. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check, or Bid Bond payable to the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office, the amount of which shall be five percent (5%) of the amount of the proposed Base Bid. Money Orders will not be accepted. This shall be given as guarantee that the bidder will execute the contract, if it is awarded to him, in conformity with the Contract Documents. If a Bid Bond is used, it must meet the requirements according to R.S. 38:2218. The successful Bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance and Payment Bond in an amount equal to 100% of the Contract, written by a company licensed to do business in Louisiana, and who is currently on the U.S. Department of the Treasury Financial Management Service List, or by a Louisiana domicile insurance company with at least an A-rating in the latest printing of the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide to write individual bonds up to ten percent of policy holder's surplus as shown in the A.M. Best's Key Rating Guide and complies with R.S. 38:2219 (R.S. 28:2218 Bid Bond). The bond shall be countersigned by a person who is under contract with the surety company or bond issuer as agent of the company and who is licensed as an insurance agent in this State, and who is residing in this State. Bids shall be accepted only from contractors who are licensed by the State of Louisiana for Building Construction. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of forty-five (45) days after receipt of bids, except under the provisions of La. R.S. 38:2214. The successful bidder shall supply all required insurance with carrier(s) acceptable to the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff. The owner reserved the right to reject any and all bids for just cause. In accordance with La. R.S. 38:2212 (A) (1) (b), the provisions and requirements of this action, those stated in the Advertisement for Bids, and those required on the bid form shall not be considered as informalities and shall not be waived by any public entity. The Project consists of work at one location (675 Government Street, Marksville, LA) and can be separated into three categories/buildings, however, it will be bid as one lump sum Project. 1. Part A shall include the construction of a 19,744 square foot single story building for housing inmates of the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's department. This scope of the project also includes all the site work and infrastructure for the other buildings listed below. The work consists of, but is not limited to, PEMB structure, slab on grade, interior finish out with prefab metal detention pods, CMU interior partitions, doors, windows, finishes, plumbing, mechanical/electrical systems, site paving, perimeter security fencing, utility infrastructures, and drainage structures. 2. Part B shall include the construction of a 4,661 square foot single story building for kitchen and laundry services for the new segregation complex. This scope of the project shall be coordinated with the larger segregation portion's utility and site infrastructure. The work consists of, but is not limited to, PEMB structure, slab on grade, CMU interior and exterior partitions, doors, finishes, kitchen equipment, plumbing, mechanical/electrical systems, limited paving, utility and drainage tie ins. 3. Part C shall include the construction of a 2,400 square foot single story building for court and nursing services for the new segregation complex. This scope of the project shall be coordinated with the larger segregation portion's utility and site infrastructure. The work consists of, but is not limited to, PEMB structure, slab on grade, CMU interior and exterior partitions, doors, finishes, prefab metal detention pods, plumbing, mechanical/electrical systems, limited paving, utility and drainage tie ins Completion- (425) consecutive calendar days
