Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Van Lear, Kentucky. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
The general description of the work is for the Contractor to provide all equipment, material, labor, supplies and supervision needed to properly prepare the existing asphalt surfaces at our basketball court and our tennis court (Exhibit 1) for placement of a coating new fine surface asphalt to restore the playing surfaces. The existing asphalt has been in place for several years and has weathered and cracked but does appear to maintain a solid base. The existing asphalt should be properly cleaned of any/all substances that could prevent the bonding of new asphalt, such as dirt, gravel/stone, paint, pollen, grass etc...SS1H (or equivalent) Tack coat should be applied to cleaned asphalt surface before placing new asphalt to assist in desired bonding between new and existing. The finished product from side to side and end to end shall be so level as to prevent water from pooling on the playing surfaces. The contractor shall begin performance within 10 calendar days and complete it within 30 calendar days. Furnish all equipment, material, labor, supplies and supervision needed to provide and properly place new fine surface Asphalt at Dewey Lake Basketball and Tennis Courts and in accordance with the attached scope of work and exhibits. Delivery Address: 9278 Lake Road Van Lear KY 41265 Contractor shall furnish all equipment, material, labor, supplies, layouts of work features, and supervision needed to accomplish the following as described below: 2. Contractor shall properly prepare the existing asphalt at our basketball court (Exhibit 2) for placement of new asphalt to restore the playing surface. The existing basketball court measures approximately 90 ft by 42 ft. The court should be properly cleaned of any/all substances that could prevent the bonding of new asphalt, such as dirt, gravel/stone, paint, pollen, grass etc... SS1H (or equivalent) Tack coat should be applied to the cleaned surface before placing new asphalt to assist in desired bonding between new and existing. Enough new asphalt should be applied to the surface to finish with a two (2) inch compacted coat of new fine surface asphalt. All edges shall be rolled down to prevent a sharp/abrupt change in height between the asphalt and the ground. The finished playing surface from side to side and end to end shall be so level as to prevent water from pooling on the playing surfaces. 3. Contractor shall properly prepare the existing asphalt at our tennis court for placement of new asphalt to restore the playing surface. The existing tennis court (Exhibit 3) measures approximately 88 ft by 40 ft. The court should be properly cleaned of any/all substances that could prevent the bonding of new asphalt, such as dirt, gravel/stone, paint, pollen, grass etc... SS1H (or equivalent) Tack coat should be applied to the cleaned surface before placing new asphalt to assist in desired bonding between new and existing. Enough new asphalt should be applied to the surface to finish with a two (2) inch compacted coat of new fine surface asphalt. All measurements are approximate and every attempt should be made to ensure a smooth, cohesive finished product. SPECIFICATIONS: Basketball Court - 90' x 42' Tennis Court - 88' x 40' All affected areas shall be reclaimed and cleaned of loose materials and grass seed/straw applied as needed when finished. Magnitude of Construction is Between $25,000 and $100,000. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
