Site work for a mixed-use development in Independence, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and transportation facility.

**As of October 20 , 2025 , project has not been awarded yet, timeframe will be in a couple of weeks.** Design, fabrication, and installation of replacement signage at its Industrial Parks and Public Works Building. The current signs are outdated and in poor condition, and the City seeks durable, professional signage consistent with its community identity. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. The City seeks proposals that include conceptual design ideas, fabrication, and installation of new signage at three locations. Proposals should incorporate durable materials, replaceable nameplates, and weather-resistant finishes. SIGNAGE REPLACEMENT #1: Laurel & Hackney Intersection (Laurel Street Industrial Park) o Location: 2300 W. Laurel Street o Purpose: Clear identification of businesses within the Industrial Park o Visibility: Two-sided sign for both eastbound and westbound traffic o Current Dimensions: 6' wide x 10' tall overall; 7'4" wide x 12" tall base; 6' tall x 14" wide support column o Business nameplates: 12" x 66", easy to replace; minimum 6 slots required o Design Requirements: City logo incorporated; "INDEPENDENCE INDUSTRIAL PARK" centered o Installation: Existing sign will be removed; new sign location to be coordinated with City after intersection project completion o Intersection is set to be widened within the next few months, and the contractor will remove the existing sign. Installation of the new sign will be after the construction work is completed and a date is provided to the bid winner SIGNAGE REPLACEMENT #2: Independence Airport Industrial Park o Location: Independence Municipal Airport at Russ Myer Blvd and Freedom Drive o Purpose: Identify businesses and provide directional guidance on reverse side o Visibility: Two-sided sign for airport entrance and exit o Dimensions: 6' wide x 10' tall overall; 7'4" wide x 12" tall base; 6' tall x 14" wide support column o Business nameplates: 12" x 66", replaceable; minimum 6 slots required o Design: City logo preferred at top; "INDEPENDENCE INDUSTRIAL PARK" centered; reverse side with "VISIT INDEPENDENCE" and City directions, legible at 40-50 feet o Installation: Contractor responsible for removing the existing sign and base, installing new base and signage Current Airport signage to be removed by the bid winner. SIGNAGE REPLACEMENT #3: Public Works & Utilities Building o Location: 2143 Enterprise Drive o Purpose: Identification of the Public Works & Utilities Building o Visibility: Two-sided sign for eastbound and westbound traffic o Design: Incorporate City's preferred style (double pole, simple, consistent font with wayfinding signs, but distinct from them) o Size: Contractor to recommend appropriate sign size and font for visibility at 30 mph traffic speed
