The Municipality of Jasper, in partnership with Tree Canada, is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide turnkey tree planting services at interim housing sites within Jasper, Alberta. The intent of this project is to establish visual and sound barriers for residents living in interim housing, helping to enhance their quality of life while promoting harmony with the surrounding environment. The plantings are expected to remain in place for the 3-5 year lifespan of the interim housing parcels. Proponents are invited to propose species and planting densities that maximize screening, resilience, and cost-effectiveness within the approved Parks Canada Jasper Townsite Planting List. Consideration should be given to fire resistance, short-term suitability, and where feasible, the potential for future relocation of trees. The project has a fixed budget of $100,000. Proponents must provide a pricing breakdown that includes: - Unit cost per tree (supply + planting) - Watering and maintenance (two growing seasons) - Mobilization and demobilization costs - Any other relevant costs The Municipality encourages cost-effective approaches that balance unit pricing with species selection, barrier effectiveness, and fire resilience.
