Reference Number 0000397810 Question Deadline 11/11/2025 at 4:00 PM CT Questions are submitted online No The City of Victoria Landfill (Landfill) operates under Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Permit 1522B, which was issued in October 2023 when the City completed a significant expansion to its Landfill. The total remaining capacity is approximately 40 million cubic yards. The City owns approximately 515 acres at the Landfill site, with the permitted waste footprint being approximately 360 acres. Partial closure has been completed on approximately 57 acres, including all of the Pre-Subtitle D cells or trenches. Figure 1 below shows the approximate areas of the previously permitted area (the "Original Footprint") and recently permitted expansion area (the "Expansion Area"). The Landfill expansion also included a vertical expansion over portions of the Original Footprint. The Landfill began operations in 1983. All Landfill Cells constructed since 1993 have adhered to the Subtitle D regulations.
