Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Lake Forest, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The McLennon-Reed Bridge is on Lake Road in Lake Forest. Work includes deck replacement, slope stabilization, and restoration of the ravine beneath the bridge. The weathering steel rolled-beam superstructure currently supports a 32 foot 6-inch-wide deck, out-to-out of coping, with a sidewalk along the east edge. The deck will be replaced with a similar concrete deck with a sidewalk and IDOT Type L railings. The project limits include deck replacement for the three continuous steel spans totaling 173 feet long end-to-end of deck, 20 feet at both approaches for asphalt removal and replacement, and approximately 33 feet of slope stabilization and repair upstream and downstream of the centerline of the bridge in Clark's ravine. Est. Completion Date: Sept. 15, 2026 QA date - 9-25-2025 All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to Engineer in writing via Quest Q and A or by email. Interpretations or clarifications considered necessary by Engineer in response to such questions will be issued via Quest Q and A or by Addenda emailed to all parties recorded by Engineer as having received the Bidding Documents. Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
