Reference Number 0000302462 Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/10/03 03:00:00 PM EDT All new Building Automation System (BAS) installations shall be designed as an integrated, open-protocol, BACnet-compliant system in accordance with ANSI/ASHRAE Standard 135. System architecture must adhere to the University of Guelph Design and Construction Standards (see Section 1.5). To maintain consistency and efficiency across campus: All new building control systems must be fully compatible and equivalent with the existing BAS platform(s) currently in operation. Buildings shall have a single control system; multiple independent systems within the same building are not permitted. The BAS shall, wherever possible, directly control equipment, avoiding point passing between BAS systems to prevent conflicts and inefficiencies. Proprietary equipment control systems are not permitted; the BAS shall remain the sole system of control. Typical systems to be integrated into the BAS include (but are not limited to): Air handling units (with VFDs, glycol preheat coils, filters, chilled water coils, humidification, hydronic or steam heating coils, automatic louvers, dampers, and control valves) Return and exhaust fans (with VFDs) Fume hood exhaust and related exhaust systems Kitchen exhaust and make-up air systems VAV systems and associated space temperature/ventilation controls Venturi valve systems and pressurization regimes Humidification control systems Heat exchangers Hydronic pumps (with VFDs) Fan coils, perimeter heating, terminal heating, unit heaters, and associated space temperature control Domestic water heaters with mixing valves Lighting control systems Heat pumps Demand control ventilation (DCV) systems Official bid documents must be obtained from www.merx.com and bid submissions must be done through the Merx platform.
