Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Aurora, New York. Design plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project work includes improvements for the Wells College Water Treatment Plant, including installation of a new intake in Cayuga Lake at a depth of approximately 100 feet, up to 3,000 linear feet (LF) of intake pipe, a raw water pump station near the shore to pump water to the treatment plant (WTP), construction of a new treatment building at the existing WTP, demolition of the existing Wells College water storage tank and installation of a new storage tank at the same location, and approximately 5,000 LF of water transmission main from the existing Sherwood Road tank to the existing Wells College tank. Replacement of existing water main and updates to the Wells College filtration system will be conducted as needed improvements to the security of the existing/future water treatment plant and upgraded control and automation system are proposed. As of September 11, 2025, this project is in the design phase. An engineer has been selected for the project. Although a firm timeline has not been disclosed, construction is not expected to start for a least a year.
