The contractor shall perform asbestos abatement and install new flooring in Building 1601. This includes removing approximately 8,000 square feet of existing flooring (carpet, tile, and mastic) down to the concrete slab, removing a sit-up bar, and conducting an air clearance test upon completion. Following abatement, the contractor will remove all cove base in areas receiving new flooring, test the concrete slab for moisture in two areas designated for laminated vinyl tile (LVT), and apply a primer/vapor barrier as required. Installation will include approximately 6,250 square feet of carpet tile in a quarter-turn pattern and 2,275 square feet of LVT, along with 6-inch vinyl base throughout. Carpet and adhesive must be purchased from specified manufacturers without markup; LVT may be sourced from the open market if it meets specifications. The building is currently vacant, and the period of performance is 60 calendar days after the SCDES permit is received. The contractor must comply with all applicable safety, environmental, and security regulations, including background checks for base access, adherence to OSHA and Air Force safety standards, and environmental management protocols under Shaw AFBs ISO 14001-based EMS. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 0730-1630, excluding federal holidays. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded. Deliverables include air clearance sampling results and flooring samples for approval. The contractor is responsible for safeguarding government property, obtaining necessary permits, and ensuring subcontractor compliance.
