The Town of Somerset, Chevy Chase, Maryland ("Town"), located in Montgomery County, hereby solicits proposals from qualified vendors or firms with experience in providing pool fence construction services. The successful bidder should be prepared to meet with the Town Council, Mayor, and Staff as needed. Contract length will be until project completion, with the project needing to be completed prior to May 2026. The Town of Somerset is a small, incorporated municipality across roughly 0.28 square miles of land and four miles of street (many quite narrow) consisting of 415+ residential houses, a Town Hall, and a Pool. See appendices A and B for a map of the Town and a listing of streets, respectively. The successful bidder will work closely with the Mayor and Town Manager to ensure that work is done promptly and properly. 1) Scope of work. a) Replace exterior perimeter fencing (creek side), wading pool fencing and gates, anddeck entrance fencing and gates. 2) Mandatory services. a) Existing fence removal. i) Remove and dispose of the existing wood fencing from the building wall (snack bar) along the stone wall at creekside to the terminus point at the chain link fence (227 feet of fencing). ii) Remove and dispose of the existing metal fence for the two wading pool sections (twenty-five feet of fencing total). iii) Remove and dispose of the existing metal fence for the snack bar deck entrance (nine feet of fencing). iv) Remove end chain link section along trail for Vinton Park accessibility. b) Furnish and install industrial grade aluminum fence with 1" pickets and three horizontal rails at the following areas. i) Building to grill area - Install six foot high with posts extended to ground level (forty-six feet of fencing). ii) Grill to far end of deck - Install six foot high fence with posts extended to ground level (181 feet of fencing). iii) Wading pool (two sections)- Install four feet high fence with two self-latching gates (twenty-five feet of fencing total, each gate is four feet and included in the total). iv) Snack bar deck to entry of pool deck - Install four feet high fence with self latching double gate (nine feet of fencing, gate is six feet and included in the total). c) Signage. i) Install "No Trespassing" general warning signage (four total signs of aluminum or composite grade). d) Pool cover storage. i) Supply and install one Suncast Resin Panel Deckbox for pool cover storage.
