This is a service / maintenance or supply contract in Weston, Connecticut. Contact the soliciting agency for additional information.

The Ravenwood water system is primarily one bedrock well with two backup rock wells located off Godfrey Road East. The main well is at a depth of 420 feet and was constructed by the pound method. The yield (1994) was 10 GPM after three days. Backup Well No. 1 is at a depth of 605 feet and was constructed by the rotary method. Well No. 2 is at a depth of 580 feet and was constructed by air percussion. Both wells have 100-foot casings. Estimated 48 hours yields (1975) were 10 GPM for Well No. 1 and 12 GPM for Well No. 2. Neither Well is producing at these rates at present. There is a chlorine treatment system that must be maintained; however, at the present time, chlorine treatment is not required. The wells pump into twin 10,000-gallon storage tanks (20,000 gallons total) that serve as the suction supply for the booster station. It is this tank that is supplied with trucked-in bulk water during peak demand periods in the absence of adequate supply for the wells. The booster station delivers water from the storage tank that serves the Ravenwood distribution system. The existing standby generator was installed in 1994. This generator is scheduled for replacement in the current budget year (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026). The Ravenwood distribution system is comprised of 8-inch ductile iron pipe which services 27 residences on Ravenwood Drive, Godfrey Road East, and Tubbs Spring Court. In addition, the Town dog pound, transfer station, and Weston Gun Club are provided service. Each resident is metered and a curb valve is available for premise shut-off. There is no fire protection. The Contractor will provide adequate levels of qualified, trained staff experienced in the operation of water supply, treatment and distribution systems to fulfill the scope of work described below. The Contractor shall designate the following personnel to provide required services: Water Systems Operator(s): Experienced, trained and certified for on-site operation, maintenance and repair of Town Water Systems such as system checks of the Water Systems' treatment facilities, pump stations, etc. Additional Water Systems Operator(s): Assignment as needed, for on-site operation and maintenance of Town Water Systems. Question Deadline 10/01/2025 Inquires can be made via e-mail to Larry Roberts, Public Works Director at lroberts@westonct.gov. The Town of Weston reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals and reserves the right to waive technicalities where such action best serves the interest of the Town.
