Site work for a civil project in Trenton, New Jersey. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Raw Water Intake Improvements for Water Filtration Plant Work involves studying current river intake structure to withdraw raw water from the Delaware River including the connecting piping and concrete conduit that conveys raw water from river to the treatment plant facility and recommend improvements. The objective of the study is to determine the causes of river intake failure due to clogging by frazil ice during severe winter storms and cold spells and recommend measures to prevent it from happening again in the years ahead. The deadline for questions pertaining to this study is DECEMBER 23, 2025, TWW will not respond to questions received after the deadline. All questions shall be submitted in writing to:igarcia@trentonnj.org SCOPE OF WORK TWW is seeking proposals from qualified professional engineering consulting firms to submit proposals to provide services, including, but not limited to, planning, engineering evaluations and design, permitting, and engineering services during construction of their Raw Water Intake System and associated infrastructure. The tasks and key deliverables are detailed herein: Scope of Work Task 1- Engineering Investigations, Studies, Analysis, Technical Memorandum, and Basis of Design Report (BODR) a) Task Description: Task 1 is to evaluate the intake system from river to pump. This shall include evaluation of the existing intake equipment, current operational procedures and methods, screen cleaning, hydraulic conditions in the intake and wet well and recycling streams or other means of material entering the intake structure. Additionally, the firm shall evaluate options for preventing frazil ice formation on the raw water intake Johnson screens. As a part of this effort, the selected firm shall study, evaluate, and report on additional alternatives considered appropriate by TWW for continued use of the traveling screens and further intake improvements. In addition, the scope of work also includes performing hydraulic calculations and developing system curves for conditions at the pump suction. These analyses are to address the system curve under various conditions, impacts on wet well levels, and raw water pump curves including acceptable net positive suction head operating conditions across the full range of flows. This shall account for all ranges of head loss across both Johnson screens and traveling screens at all plant flow rates. Task Description Details: TWW have determined that several investigations and improvements are warranted including improving the capabilities and operations of the existing air burst system, explore additional means to control frazil ice at the passive screens, explore currently installed bulk heads to isolate abandoned section of the intake structure with robust bulk head structure, and establish written operating procedures and protocols for regular inspection. TWW currently desires to retain the redundancy provided by the traveling
