This item shall consist of performing exploratory excavations, in locations shown on the plans or as directed by the Engineer, in order to determine the exact location and depth of the existing watermain on either side of the culvert. This work shall be performed prior to the start of the existing culvert removal. Each Bid must contain the full name or names of the party or parties making the same, with an affidavit as to interested parties and in the case of a corporation not chartered in Ohio, with a proper certificate that such corporation is authorized to do business in Ohio. Each bidder is required to furnish with its Proposal a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code or a certified check or cashier's check equal to ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, payable to the Village of Walton Hills. The Bid security in Bond form shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety. The Bid Guaranty will be held, if the Bid Proposal is accepted, to guarantee a Contract will be entered into in accordance with ORC 153.54. The price of material and labor bid for shall be separately stated. Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond or check, as the case may be, will be held as a guarantee that, if the Bid Proposal is accepted, a Contract will be entered into between the bidder and the Village of Walton Hills, and the performance of such Contract secured by said check or bond. In default thereof said bond or check, and the amount represented thereby, shall be forfeited to the Village of Walton Hills as liquidated damages.
