Site work and paving for a sidewalk / parking lot in Houston, Texas. Completed plans call for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.

Furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, and performing all work required for the Sidewalk Maintenance Program Phase 1 project. Each bid must be accompanied by Bid Security made payable to the Midtown Management District in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bidder's maximum bid price and in the form of a Bid Bond issued by a surety meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond on the forms provided each in the amount of 100% of the Contract price from a surety company licensed by the State of Texas. The project consists of the replacement of faulted or damaged/broken sidewalk sections that are on average 20 feet or less in length in accordance with City of Houston's Ordinance Sec. 40-553. A. Mobilization of construction equipment and facilities on site and execution of all necessary permits. 1. Authorization of 80% for mobilizing to site. 2. Authorization of 10% requires the following Submittals: a. Sidewalk Concrete Mix Design b. Miscellaneous Pavement items (e.g. rebar, joint sealant, etc.) c. Checker Plate (including hardware) d. Certified Urban Forester information e. Inlet Protection Barrier 3. Authorization of the remaining balance made upon completion of 5% of original contract price. B. Construction and installation of the following Sidewalk items: 1. Remove and dispose of 240 SY of Concrete Sidewalks & Ramps 2. 2160 SF of 4 1/2 - inch thick of concrete sidewalk 3. 900 SF of Sod, Gravel, Mulch or Landscaping along the disturbed edges of the sidewalk replacement. C. Install, maintain, relocate, and remove inlet protection barriers, as needed, to prevent construction runoff from entering downstream inlets. D. Traffic Control Plan per Texas MUTCD during all construction phases. 1. The Contractor shall provide and install traffic control devices in conformance with Part VI of the most recent edition of Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (TMUTCD) and the approved traffic control plan. 2. Use standard City single lane closure for sidewalk work. Sidewalk closed signs shall be installed during sidewalk closure. Contractor shall not close sidewalks on both sides of the road. Work shall be done on one side only to allow pedestrians to use the other side sidewalk. Contractor shall setup sidewalk detours when sidewalks are closed for construction. 3. Traffic lanes shall be open to traffic after each working day. 4. Work and lane closures shall be during off-peak hours only (Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Flaggers in radio contact are required to direct traffic during lane closures. 5. No paving or utility excavation areas shall be left open overnight or on weekends. All lanes must be open after each working day. Contractor can utilize steel plates or temporary asphalt or any other alternatives to open traffic if needed. Work is incidental to traffic control item. 6. Refer to Traffic Control Standard details for more information. 7. Provide sequence of construction to CM prior to developing schedule for approval 8. The Contractor shall give written notifications to the neighboring residents of the anticipated work schedule, including the Contractor's name, contact person and twentyfour (24) hour phone number. Notice shall be given at least forty-eight (48) hours prior to beginning the work at the site. E. Contractor shall field layout edges of proposed sidewalks prior to construction activities for each block for CM's approval before commencing work. Notify CM of any plan deviations prior to form work. No separate pay. F. All sidewalks shall be constructed per City of Houston guidelines and specifications with a maximum cross slope of 2% and maximum longitudinal slope of 5%. Contractor is responsible for Compliance. G. All ramps shall be constructed per City of Houston guidelines and specifications with maximum longitudinal slope of 1:12. H. The Contractor shall protect in place all existing plants, trees, irrigation/sprinkler systems. Any items damaged during construction by the Contractor shall be replaced with equal or better at no extra pay. Trees, bushes, shrubbery, and other damaged plantings or existing lawn irrigation/sprinkler system are to be replaced within seventy- two (72) hours of removal and to be watered in thoroughly. No separate payment shall be made for these works Anticipated start date : Early December 2025
