Demolition and site work for a residential development in Edwardsville, Kansas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a 3,178-square-foot residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
The Scope of Work includes the demolition and removal of a 2,434 square foot residential housing unit including the basement, a 576 square foot attached garage and 168 square foot shed, on a .4.75-acre site located at 250 N. 110thth Street, Edwardsville, KS 66111. The site will be restored using normal industry standards including seeding and erosion control matting as necessary. In no case shall the site be allowed to retain water in pools or ponds on the site. The use of fill material acceptable to the City may be required. According to the Wyandotte Appraiser's Office, the primary structure was built in 1950 with a basement, and a detached garage and shed were added in 1960. Pictures of the structures are attached. Bidders shall be responsible to ensure all utilities have been properly disconnected and to conduct any necessary asbestos assessments. Bidders shall be required to obtain a demolition permit from the City of Edwardsville and have an active business license and current W/9 on file. The demolition permit fee shall be waived for this Project. The Contract shall be awarded by the Governing Body of the City of Edwardsville at the sole and complete discretion of such Governing Body. The City of Edwardsville, Kansas, reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals, in whole or in part, and to waive technicalities. Upon Award of Bid, it is anticipated a Notice to Proceed will occur within 10 days. Bidders should be prepared to proceed immediately upon Notice to Proceed, but in no case more than 30 days. All work must be completed within 30 calendar days. The City reserves the right to accept the bid which, in its judgment is the lowest and best bid, to reject any or all bids, to award the Contract for the proposed work and to waive irregularities or informalities in any bid submitted. The City will start counting Calendar Days on the date that the Notice to Proceed is issued. It is understood and agreed that time is of the essence and that should the Contractor fail to complete the Contract within the time specified or within any proper extension thereof granted by the City, the Contractor shall pay liquidated damages in the amount of $150.00 per Calendar Day for each Calendar Day that elapses after the allowed construction time expires, until the project is deemed complete by the City.
