The Town of Kentville is seeking bids for snow clearing services for the winter season, which runs from December 1 to March 31. Services will be provided on an on-call basis, with the Town reserving the right to plow all streets or only selected areas during each snow event. Contractors may leave equipment at the Public Works Garage (875 West Main Street) for the duration of the season. The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to accept the proposal deemed in its best interest. The Town may award either a one-season or three-season contract for A - Plowing (North End) or B - Plowing (West End) and is not obligated to award both areas to the same contractor. Tenders will be opened publicly immediately after the 2:00 p.m. closing. Contractors must provide references and a list of operators with their experience upon request. Contractors are also responsible for any required reinstatement. Pricing must be submitted as unit prices per hour, excluding HST. A minimum of two loaders, each no smaller than a 10-ton machine and equipped with plow and wing gear (e.g., CAT 926M or equivalent), must be available and on standby.
