The work to be done shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct the proposed Grading, Drainage, Base & Pavement Improvements for Galilee Church Road, Et al. as shown on the construction drawings. In general, Phase 1 construction consists of earthwork, road base construction, storm drain installation, paving, and striping of 2.06 miles of roadway and all associated measures for the complete project. Phase 2 construction consists of earthwork, road base construction, storm drain installation, paving, and striping of 0.41 miles of roadway and all associated measures for the complete project. Time allotted for completion of all work is 240 consecutive calendar days to substantial completion. Work shall be complete and ready for contract close-out with 254 consecutive calendar days. All work shall be completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. The work will be awarded in one (1) Contract. CONTRACTOR LICENSE Any Contractor submitting a bid must be a pre-qualified Georgia Department of Transportation Contractor. License numbers must be written on the face of the bid envelope. No bid will be opened unless the license number is clearly shown. See Instructions to Bidders for additional bidding requirements. Upon request and receipt of the document payment indicated above, Watkins & Associates, LLC will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted will be considered the prospective Bidder's date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Engineer. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Office of the Engineer. Prequalification may be required of Bidders prior to the award of contract. At the Owner's request, detailed written evidence such as financial data, bonding capacity, previous experience, present commitments, and other such data may be necessary to assist Owner in determining Contractor's qualifications shall be provided per the Instructions to Bidders contained in the contract documents. The successful bidder, if awarded the Contract, will be required to furnish a Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract amount. Each Bond shall be accompanied by a "Power of Attorney" authorizing the attorney-in-fact to bind the surety and certified to include the date of the bond. f contract.
