Site work for a civil project in Athens, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
This project includes the construction of one new water supply well, pw-24, including but not limited to the drilling, construction, sampling, grouting, developing, testing and disinfection of the well. Each proposal shall contain the full name and address of each person or company interested in the same. The proposal shall also be accompanied by a proposal bond in the amount of one hundred percent(100%) of the bid, or by a cashier's check for ten percent (10%) of the bid, made payable to the city of athens, ohio, conditioned that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into within sixty (60)days after notice of acceptance. A performance bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the amount of the contract with a satisfactory surety company, conditioned according to law, will be required for the faithful performance of the contract. The "prime" contractor must perform no less than thirty percent (30%) of the total original contract price. The work shall commence upon written notice of award by the city of athens. This procurement is subject to the epa policy of encouraging the participation of small businesses in rural areas (sbras). The contractor must comply with american iron and steel requirements. The city of athens reserves the right to waive informalities as may be in its best interest. This project has a $50. Nonrefundable registration fee / ALL bidders Must Register with DLZ Logan MBE: 3.1%; WBE: 2.3% The work described in this Section includes the construction of one new water supply well, PW-24, as specified herein, including but not limited to the drilling, construction, sampling, grouting, developing, testing and disinfection ofthe well. The well is to be installed for the City of Athens public water supply system (Owner) at the staked location. Test boring TB-1 was completed approximately 10 feet adjacent to the final approved production well location. The boring log is attached. Formation samples were collected from the test boring and sieve analyses were performed to determine production well construction. A graph showing the cumulative percent retained grain size ofsamples collected from TB-1 is attached. Based on the sieve analyses, PW-24 is to be constructed as a filter pack well with a 24-inch pipe-size diameter, 15-foot-long screen with 0.060-inch slot openings and is anticipated to be 62 feet deep. Drilling must be performed with cable tool drilling methods and the borehole should be 30 inches in diameter. The Contractor shall do all work and furnish all labor, material, equipment, fuel, lubricants, etc. necessary to complete the wells in the manner specified. The work to be completed shall not be limited to the exact extent described in the specifications, but shall include all incidental work necessary and customary for completion ofthe project. The work site is located at the City ofAthens' Armitage Well Field. To access the work site: From US 33, exit onto OH-682 South at The Plains exit. Take OH-682 South approximately 3.7 miles to Armitage Road and turn left. Travel approximately 2.0 miles to the access road for the Hocking-Adena Bikeway and turn right, access GPS: 39.346144, -82.102582. Follow this access road over the Hocking-Adena Bikeway and railroad tracks through the gate to the staked location. The railroad crossing has a high breakover angle that may cause access limitationsto certain equipment. The Contractor shall confirm site access with the planned equipment prior to mobilization.
