Each bidder is required to file with its bid a certified check or cashier's check for an amount equal to five percent (5%) of its bid, but in no event more than fifty thousand dollars, or a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of its bid payable to the "City of Fairlawn." Copies of the Check or Bid Bond shall be included as an attachment to the online bid solicitation. Original checks to guaranty bids must be delivered by 10:00 A.M. on the bid opening date to the City of Fairlawn, Office of the Mayor, 3487 S Smith Road, Fairlawn, OH 44333 in a sealed envelope marked "BANCROFT ROAD PUMP STATION NO. 5 IMPROVEMENTS Bid Guaranty, [Contractor Name]". The check must be drawn on a solvent bank made payable to the City of Fairlawn, OH. No proposal will be considered unless its bid bond can be verified by the bonding company or the original check to guaranty its bid is submitted to the City of Fairlawn in advance of the bid opening. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Summit County and the City of Fairlawn, Ohio as determined by the Ohio Department of Industrial Relations. The engineer's estimate of cost for this project is $2,400,000.00. Representatives of the Owner and Engineer will be present to discuss the project and answer questions.
