The City of Alachua is seeking qualified contractors for the construction of the NW 115th Avenue Extension, a key infrastructure project aimed at improving transportation access and supporting future commercial development west of County Road 235-A. All questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents must be submitted to Owner in writing WORK COVERED BY CONTRACT DOCUMENTS A. The NW 115th Avenue Extension Project entails the westward extension of the existing NW 115th Avenue, situated just west of County Road 235-A. The project will add approximately 1,235 linear feet of new roadway, designed to improve connectivity and support anticipated adjacent development through enhanced transportation infrastructure. B. The extension is designed to: 1. Improve vehicular and pedestrian connectivity. 2. Support and accommodate future commercial development in the surrounding area. 3. Enhance safety and mobility by extending existing roadway infrastructure consistent with current design standards. C. All construction will comply with applicable local, state, and federal requirements, and shall meet the standards of the City of Alachua.PROJECT DESCRIPTION A. Summary of Work as outlined in the Bid Form. B. Base Bid Work includes the following: 1. Roadway Construction: a. The extension will replicate the existing NW 115th Avenue cross section, including: o Two 12-foot-wide travel lanes (divided). o A 24-foot-wide raised median. o Paved and unpaved shoulders on both sides of the roadway. o Open drainage system with roadside stormwater treatment facilities. 2. Pedestrian and Bicycle Facilities: a. Installation of a 5-foot-wide sidewalk along the south side of the new roadway segment. 3. Lighting and Landscaping: a. Installation of roadway lighting to ensure visibility and safety. b. Landscaping within the median and along the shoulders as required to match existing roadway aesthetics and meet City standards.
