The elevator modernization project consists of a comprehensive, turnkey, and code compliant modernization of five (5) simplex hydraulic passenger elevators and one (1) C1- loading freight elevator. 2. The Elevator Contractor shall be the "prime contractor" and responsible for the management and cost of all work necessary to complete the project, unless otherwise specified. 3. The prime contractor shall include any and all General Contractor work in their base bid. Contractor shall provide an engineering report from a certified engineer, on each elevator. This report shall detail any cab weight modifications. Any structural modifications or reinforcement required within that report shall be the responsibility of the elevator contractor. 4. Any modifications or changes to structural supports shall be reviewed and verified by a certified Professional/Structural Engineer. A copy of the engineering analysis shall be provided to the Owner for review and approval as part of the submittal package. 5. In all cases where a device or part of the equipment is herein referred to in the singular number, it is intended that such reference shall apply to as many such devices as are required to complete the installation. 6. The hydraulic passenger elevator work is hereby defined to include, but not by ways oflimitation, the replacement of hatch and car door electromechanical interlocks, hanger tracks, door rollers, controller, power units, drive system, piston stabilizer system , traveling cable, wiring, door operator complete, with a cab replacement alternate, all operating fixtures and signal fixtures and all related equipment for a complete elevator equipment modernization. 7. All equipment and component parts installed, supplied or provided under this contract shall be nonproprietary and must be manufactured and distributed by a thirdparty, non-installer company that supplies the vertical transportation industry. a. Manufacturers of the apparatus shall provide technical support and parts replacements for their equipment and component systems for a minimum of ten (10) years, and issue such guarantee of support to the purchaser with written certification naming the final Owner of their product(s) to ensure the apparatus or systems remain maintainable regardless of who may be selected for future service. 8. With the exception of items specifically identified as being performed by others,the Specifications are intended to include all engineering, material, labor, testing, and inspections needed to comply with Contract documents. 9. It is not the intent of these specifications to detail the specified work complete and operable in every respect. They are not intended to give every minor detail within the specifications.
