Spring tree planting of 34 units and an estimated total of 479,783 trees, in the Bulkley TSA (approximately 233 hectares) 16 of the units are NSR Small Scale Salvage units funded through the district Forest Stand Management Fund (GFS) (101,363 trees). 18 of the units are post free-growing plantations, most between 20-30 years old, that burnt in recent wildfires (2 units in 2018 and 16 units in 2023) funded through the provincial Forest Investment Program (FIP) (378,420 trees). These units will receive a site preparation treatment prior to planting consisting of mechanical knockdown and windrowing of dead and dying trees. Plantable areas will consist of 4m wide corridors between 2m wide windrows. Site Prep is expected to be completed in winter 2025. Planting maps and areas will be finalized following the completion of the site prep. Site prep treatment maps and areas have been included in this posting as placeholders for the time being. In the event that site prep is not completed for all units a per tree price WITH and WITHOUT site prep must be included in the bid. Contract will be primarily managed through an implementation contractor, with ministry representatives supporting.
