https://www.jonesborosun.com/news/yet-another-wrinkle-in-building-plans/article_e37a5c7e-da3c-5c4d-996c-63a6b1d7a6fe.html JONESBORO — The question of where to locate a new building for the Jonesboro Police Department has taken on yet another element after city council member Brian Emison reported that the city may have an opportunity to sell one of the city-owned sites under consideration. Emison, chairman of the council’s Public Safety Committee, also chairs the Capital Improvement Bonds Task Force, which is trying to decide where to build a new 911 dispatch center and Real Time Crime Center. --------------------------------------------------------- City of Jonesboro is requesting a Statement of Qualifications from Construction Managers interested in providing Construction Management Services related to the construction of the 911 Dispatch and Real Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) in Jonesboro, Arkansas. This project will be competitively bid through the Construction Manager, who will hold all subcontracts and bonds. The project consists of an approximately 8,500 SF, one-story building that will house both the 911 Dispatch and the Real Time Intelligence Center for the City of Jonesboro. The building’s construction will consist of concrete perimeter walls acting as a "safe shelter" for these spaces and will include extensive low voltage technology. Mechanical systems will be conventional. Fire suppression will be included. The building will also include a backup generator. Sitework will consist of minimal required parking and site utility connections. Construction Manager services required will include project cost estimating, bid package development, pricing (guaranteed maximum price), subcontractor pricing and selection, scheduling, project coordination, construction, project close-out, and warranty. Written responses shall include: The company’s history, locations, and services offered. The qualifications and experience of the proposed team. The company’s experience with similar projects. Methods of obtaining subcontractor bidding and providing multiple bids on all bid packages. A list of items included in both Overhead and General Conditions for a typical Construction Manager project. Copies of all applicable licenses and insurances, and bonding capacity/rate. The City reserves the right to reject any and all submittals. The City of Jonesboro is not responsible for any lost or misguided submittals.
