Each bid exceeding $50,000shall be accompanied by a cashier's check from a bank doing business in the State of Arkansas or a corporate bid bond for five (5) percent of the amount bid. In the event a bidder opts to submit a cashier's check for a bid bond, the actual physical cashier's check shall be delivered to the City prior to the deadline. One hundred percent (100%) performance and payment bonds are required after the contract award. This amount includes any approved contingency. The City of Fayetteville will be installing a new 6" water main along Ridgeway Drive and Crestwood Drive. The City requires the services of a licensed plumbing contractor to transition approximately 66 residential service connections from the existing water line to the newly installed main. Historically, service lines in this area were connected to the original water main located in the rear yards of most properties. This new water main is being installed along the front of the residences, and all service connections will be reconfigured accordingly to improve accessibility and infrastructure reliability. 2) Bidders shall furnish evidence that they have experience in the type of work as outlined in the bid specifications and shall include specific experience. A minimum of four (4) references must be submitted with each bid for projects that have been completed within the past five (5) years. 3) Bidders shall provide bid pricing in a lump sum format. 4) The following tasks will be the responsibility of the City of Fayetteville: a) The City shall acquire a Temporary Construction Easement which will grant the City and the plumbing contractor access to the site. b) The City shall install new meter boxes, yokes, copper tailpieces, and taps into the new water line. c) The City shall close the corporation stop valves on the old line. The City of Fayetteville shall not be responsible for lost or misdirected bids, or failure of bidder's technical equipment.
