The Maine-Endwell Central School District invites sealed bids, in duplicate, for: General Construction (GC) Mechanical Construction (MC) Plumbing Construction (PC) Electrical Construction (EC) Site Construction (SC) For: 2022 Capital Improvement Project Phase 4 High School Alterations RFIs may be mailed to: Mr. Michael James, Project Manager King King Architects LLP 358 W. Jefferson Street Syracuse, New York 13202 or e-mailed to Mr. James's attention at mjames@kingarch.com INSPECTION OF SITE Bidders will be able to visit the Site at the convenience of the Maine-Endwell Central School District with a minimum of forty-eight hours prior notification to Brian Grinter, Project Manager at LeChase on site in M-E CSD. RIGHT TO WAIVE OR REJECT The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids. BID SECURITY Each Bidder must deposit with its Bid, security in an amount and form subject to the conditions provided in the Contract Documents. WITHDRAWAL OF BIDS Withdrawal of Bids will be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. Work covered by this section shall include all labor, material, equipment, and services necessary to complete the job as shown or called for on Architectural and Structural Drawings. Also included, but not limited to, shall be: A. Structural steel beams, girders, and columns B. Miscellaneous and connecting material C. Hung and clipped lintels D. Roof frames for all Mechanical and Architectural openings and roof drains. E. Continuous angles Work covered by this section shall include all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the job as shown or called for on the Architectural or Structural Drawings. Also included, but not limited to, shall be: A. Reinforced roof drain sump pans where required B. Metal cants, ridge plates, valley plates, and rubber deck closures. C. Sound insulation for acoustical deck A. Painting of mechanical related work specified in the Contract Documents including, but not limited to, the following: 1. Exposed piping systems 2. Exposed ductwork systems 3. Exposed mechanical insulation 4. Exposed mechanical equipment 5. Color-coded work 6. Steel supports, hangers and rods 7. Access Doors A. This section includes minimum requirements for the following: 1. Disconnect Switches 2. Motor Control Equipment 3. Low Voltage Fuses A. This section includes minimum requirements for variable speed motor controls referred to as Adjustable Speed Drives (ASD) also referred to as Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) or Variable Speed Drives (VSD). B. The drive manufacturer shall supply the drive and all necessary options as specified. All drives installed on this project shall be from the same manufacturer and have a common user interface (control panel). The manufacturer shall have been engaged in the production of this type of equipment for a minimum of 15 years. Drives that are manufactured by a third party and "brand labeled" shall not be acceptable. Drive manufacturers who do not build their own power boards and assemblies, or do not have full control of the power board manufacturing and quality control, shall be considered as a "brand labeled" drive. C. This specification is a supplement to the drive schedule. The drive schedule identifies the specific requirement for each drive instance on the project including size, voltage, enclosure rating, disconnecting means, and harmonic mitigation requirements of the drives. D. This section includes minimum requirements for the following: 1. Standard Adjustable Speed Drives A. Expand the existing Potter IPA-4000 fire alarm voice evacuation system to the new addition and provide modules for new HVAC units. B. This section includes minimum requirements for the following: 1. Addressable Input Modules (Monitor) 2. Addressable Output Modules (Control) 3. Carbon Monoxide Detectors 4. Manual Pull Stations 5. Smoke Detectors 6. Duct Type Smoke Detectors 7. Heat Detectors 8. Audible Notification Appliances (Speakers) 9. Audible/Visual Notification Appliances (Speaker/Strobes) 10. Visual Notification Appliances 11. Carbon Monoxide Visual Notification Appliances 12. Magnetic Door Hold Opens A. The extent of site preparation is shown on th e drawings. B. Site preparation work includes, but is not li mited to, the following: 1. Site investigation and underground utility identification 2. Protection of existing trees, shrubs, ground covers and lawns to remain 3. Topsoil stripping and stockpiling on site (See Section 329201) 4. Site clearing and removals 5. Asphalt milling 6. Saw cutting 7. Relocations/salvaged materials 8. Clean up C. Provide materials, labor, equipment and services required to accomplish related work in accordance with the drawings and specifications. A. The extent of site earthwork and site grading is shown on the drawings. B. Site earthwork includes, but is not limite d to, the following: 1. Fill Materials 2. Source Quality Control 3. Shoring, Bracing and Supporting 4. Horizontal and Vertical Layout 5. Grading and Excavation 6. Compacted Backfill and Fill 7. Stone Blanket(s) 8. Field Quality Control Testing and Inspection Services 9. Guarantee 10. Clean Up C. Provide materials, labor, equipment and services required to accomplish related work in accordance with the drawings and specifications. A. Provide erosion, sediment and pollution contr ols as directed by the Architect to significantly reduce runoff on downstream and neighboring properties. This includes temporary control measures to mitigate land disruption by other Contractors during construction of this project. B. Erosion, sediment and pollution control inclu des, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Temporary concrete washout facility 2. Temporary sediment filter bag for pumped water 3. Construction site dust control 4. Spill prevention, reporting and documentation 5. Clean up C. Provide materials, labor, equipment and services required to accomplish related work in accordance with the drawings and specifications. A. The extent of asphalt paving is shown on the d rawings. B. Asphalt Paving work includes, but is not limit ed to, the following: 1. Soil Stabilization Fabric 2. Granular Base Course 3. Asphaltic Concrete 4. Bituminous Tack Coat 5. Self-Adhering Waterproof Membrane 6. Hot Pour Crack Sealing and Filling 7. Field Quality Control 8. Clean up C. Provide all materials, labor, equipment and services required to accomplish related work in accordance with the drawings and specifications. A. The extent of site concrete work is shown on the drawings and includes formwork, reinforcement, accessories, cast in place concrete, installation of embedded items, finishing, curing, mix designs, testing and acceptance requirements for concrete. B. Site Concrete work includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Concrete pads 2. Concrete long/triple jump pits 3. Concrete footings, bases, and thrust blocks 4. Concrete scheduling April 1 to October 15 5. Clean up C. Provide materials, labor, equipment and services required to accomplish related work in accordance with the drawings and specifications. A. The asbestos abatement work will consist of the removal and disposal of non-asbestos materials, asbestos containing materials and asbestos contaminated materials at the MaineEndwell Central School District High School as a part of the Maine-Endwell CSD 2022 CIP - Phase 4 Senior High School Project (SED Project Number 03-11-01-06-0-010-030) . B. Reference Drawings D X0.00, D X0.01, D X0.02, D X0.03, D X0.04 and D X0.05 for asbestos abatement notes, locations, quantities, and details. Reference the Bid Package "Information Available to Bidders" section for the Pre-Renovation Asbestos Survey Report. A. Include in bid all labor, materials, tools, plant, transportation, excavation, equipment, insurance, temporary protection, permits, taxes and all necessary and related items required to provide complete and operational systems shown and described. B. References to Codes and Standards called for in the Contract Documents mean the latest edition, amendment and revisions to the codes and standards in effect on the date of these Contract Documents. C. Minimum composition requirements and/or installation methods for the following materials and work are included in this section: 1. Miscellaneous Supports. 2. Fire Stopping. 3. Flashing and Sealing. 4. Cutting and Patching. D. Contract shall include, but not be limited to: 1. Plumbing. A. All portions of the work shown in the construction documents shall be bid by the Mechanical Contractor. Responsibility for performance of subcontractors and trades as lower tier contracts, such as electrical, shall be included as part of the Mechanical Contractor's scope of work. B. Include in bid all labor, materials, tools, plant, transportation, excavation, equipment, insurance, temporary protection, permits, taxes, services and all necessary and related items required to provide complete and operational systems shown and described. C. References to codes and standards called for in the Contract Documents mean the latest edition, amendment and revisions to the codes and standards in effect on the date of these Contract Documents. D. Minimum composition requirements and/or installation methods for the following materials and work are included in this section: 1. Miscellaneous Supports 2. Access Doors and Panels 3. Fire Stopping 4. Cutting and Patching E. Contract shall include, but not be limited to: 1. HVAC 2. General Contracting work as related to the HVAC Contract 3. Temperature Controls 4. Testing and Balancing of Mechanical Systems The last day for RFI's is October 15th, 2025.
