Renovation of a multi-residential development in Waukegan, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a one-story above grade multi-residential development.
Lake County is the recipient of Community Development Block Grant funds and has sub-awarded funds to PADS Lake County for a Shelter Renovation project. On behalf of PADS, Power Construction Company, LLC, will receive sealed bids for the project at 3633 N. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois. Bids are invited upon the following bid packages: (1) Hollow Metal Doors, Frames, and Hardware; (2) Gypsum Board Assemblies; (3) Flooring; (4) Plumbing; and (5) Electrical. The work consists of the rehabilitation of a former motel located at 3633 N. Lewis Avenue, Waukegan, Illinois, for conversion to use as a homeless shelter. This project is funded in part with federal funds. Davis-Bacon prevailing wage rates apply. Section 3 of the HUD Act of 1968 requires that employment and other economic opportunities generated by this project be directed to low- and very low income persons, particularly those residing in the project area. Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), Women Business Enterprises (WBEs), and Section 3 Business Concerns are encouraged to apply. Lake County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, waive technicalities, and accept the bid deemed most advantageous to the project.
