Renovation of a mixed-use development in Flora, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 9,148-square-foot library; and municipal facility.
New Roof Rehabilitation System for Flora City Hall and Library Lump Sum Bids will be received for the following: CONTRACT #1: Complete Construction. Contractors receiving award shall be required to furnish an approved Performance Bond, Labor and Material Payment Bond for one hundred (100%) percent of the Contract amount which shall be in full force and effect for twelve (12) months from date of acceptance of the work. Bonds shall be furnished within ten (10) days after written notice to proceed with the work. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the City of Flora, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. Should the bidder withdraw his bid within ten (10) days after bid date without written consent of the Owner, or fail to execute a satisfactory contract including performance bond within thirty (30) days after the written notice to proceed, the Owner may declare the bid deposit forfeited as liquidated damages. Contractors and subcontractors are notified that they are required to pay no less than the Illinois Department of Labor Prevailing Wage Standards set forth and approved by the Illinois Department of Labor and enclosed in the Project Manual. The Contractor of Award will be required to submit monthly Certified Payroll Reports for the entire project. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid or waive informality or errors in bidding, to award the contract to his interests, and to hold the bids for a period of forty-five (45) days from the bid date. DESCRIPTION A. NEW ROOF REHABILITATION SYSTEM for FLORA CITY HALL AND LIBRARY 131 E. 2ND STREET, FLORA, IL 62839 B. SCOPE OF WORK: The project scope includes but is not limited to the demolition of any existing damaged roof materials and a new roof membrane coating system, new asphalt shingles and related roof flashing materials. Existing roofing materials with moisture including roofing insulation and related materials are to be removed and replaced with new. Existing metal roof, gutters, scuppers and downspouts are to remain in base bid. Alternate Bid AB-1 to include demolition of existing roof membrane and keeping existing roof insulation, adding another 2" of insulation and 1/2" coverboard and providing 2" pressure treated nailers and metal coping at the Library roof, along with a new TPO roofing system at both buildings. C. Contracts shall be let for the following work: CONTRACT NO. 1. - NEW ROOF SYSTEM CONSTRUCTION D. EXISTING CONDITIONS: As the facilities will remain open for services and regular activities during this project, it will be the responsibility of the Contractor(s) to coordinate the work schedule with the Owner to provide the least amount of interference as possible. The Contractor(s) will be ultimately responsible for the protection of the public from injury due to construction and demolition work being performed on the site. Work by Others: Other projects are not anticipated to be occurring during this project.
