Renovation of a mixed-use development in Sioux City, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.

The general nature of the public improvement is: Swimming pool renovations at North High School and West High School The work shall commence on the day indicated in the Notice to Proceed and shall be substantially complete on or before August 1, 2026, and completed and ready for final payment on or before September 1, 2026. Should the Contractor fail to complete the work in this timeframe, liquidated damages of $500 per calendar day for substantial completion and $250 per calendar day for final completion will be assessed for work not completed within the designated contract terms. Site Directions: West High School at 2001 Casselman St, Sioux City, IA 51104 and North High School at 4200 Cheyenne Blvd, Sioux City, IA 51104. Pools cannot close until after March 1, 2026. One pool must always remain open. Shutdown for each pool shall be coordinated with the Owner. The successful bidder will be required to furnish bonds in an amount equal to one-hundred percent (100 percent) of the contract price, said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the Board of Directors and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and terms and conditions therein contained and shall guarantee the prompt payment for all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the District from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of Contractor. To the extent required by Iowa law, a resident bidder shall be allowed a preference as against a nonresident bidder from a state or foreign country if that state or foreign country gives or requires any preference to bidders from that state or foreign country, including but not limited to any preference to bidders, the imposition of any type of labor force preference or any other form of preferential treatment to bidders or laborers from that state or foreign country. The preference allowed shall be equal to the preference given or required by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. In the instance of a resident labor force preference, a nonresident bidder shall apply the same resident labor force preference to a public improvement in this state as would be required in the construction of a public improvement by the state or foreign country in which the nonresident bidder is a resident. Failure to submit a fully completed Bidder Status Form with the Proposal may result in the Proposal being deemed nonresponsive and rejected. Question Deadline 10/07/2025 Bidder shall submit all questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents to Engineer in writing Questions received less than seven days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered
