This project provides for the asphalt resurfacing of the Turnpike Eastbound and Westbound lanes with Stone Matrix Asphalt and Superpave asphalt mixtures. The project also provides polyester polymer concrete over bridge decks, slab stabilization, installation of S.N.A.P.s, and pavement markings. Maintenance and protection of traffic is also included. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project.
